Grassycloud (b. Ziyun) is a ceramic artist living and working between Melbourne and Jingdezhen. Her work engages in a dialogue between material and time, form and sensation, fantasy and reality, embodying her lived experiences and observations. Ziyun favors the primal coiling technique, weaving narratives through layered applications of glaze or engobe. Her ceramics resemble artifacts from a distant past, yet resonate with an uncanny echo from tomorrow—they transcend mere objects, becoming portals to profound perception. Existing in the tension between raw, tactile materiality and strikingly contemporary expression.
